Worlds of thinking, understanding, learning
If you work in international teams, or maintain
regular contact with foreign suppliers, then you know, from your
own opinions, how complicated the bridging of cultures can be: in
addition to the language barrier, the different cultural context,
in particular, leads repeatedly to confusion. Therefore, looking
up and being acquainted with the table manners and greeting ceremonies
of the counterpart before beginning the teamwork is of little use
so long as different mentalities are the cause of friction.
Cultural diversity coupled with mutual understanding can bring noticeable
gains to a company. And not only with regard to the atmosphere,
but with measurably better performances. Because different socio-cultural
backgrounds also always involve different competences that can complement
each other to achieve a goal. Because a wider mental horizon leads
to more creative solutions. And, quite simply, because international
teams develop the best international solutions. |
